Oshkosh 2021 Poster

September 12, 2021

The auction has ended, the winners are known, and the posters have been shipped and delivered to the winners.

In total, the four posters sold for $2,590.00. After eBay’s fees, we were able to raise $1,507.70 for the Woody Williams Foundation, and $930.28 for AOPA’s Air Safety Foundation. A big thank you to all who participated in the project, including everyone who placed a bid and of course the 17 participating social media aviators.

The auction is live on eBay. Here are the links to the four listings, one for each posters:

The first two posters/links will benefit the Woody Williams Foundation, while the second set of posters/links will benefit the AOPA Air Safety Foundation. 100% of the proceeds will benefit these two 501(c)(3) organizations.

The auction will be live for 10 days, starting today. Bid early, and bid often. Good luck for getting one of these four posters, and remember: you are not just buying a poster, you are helping two organizations which do a lot of great work for a lot of people.

Social Media Aviators Charity Fundraiser

August 16, 2021

The posters are complete – after Niko signed in person, the two remaining signature fields (Kristoffer & Kim from Baron Pilot, and Deon Mitton) have been filled. We were unable to do this in person, so instead they mailed transparent labels with their signatures which have been added to the posters – meaning each of the 17 channel signatures is authentic and original.

The auction will begin on eBay in late August 2021; you will find links to the eBay listings here on this website. We hope you will place a bid and help support the two beneficiaries, which are the Woody Williams Foundation and AOPA Air Safety Institute.

August 8, 2021

The posters were signed in Oshkosh – except for three participants who unfortunately could not be there in person. Two of them are providing signatures on self-adhesive labels to be added to the posters, while the third one – Niko from Niko’s Wings – made a special trip out to Iowa over the past weekend to sign the posters in person. Thanks, Niko. All this means that the final posters will have all 17 original signatures on them.

Currently, the promotional video to advertise the auction is being created and reviewed. Expected launch date for the auction is towards the end of August, 2021.

July 18, 2021

In 2019, 19 pilots known from YouTube and Instagram worked together to raise funds for two charitable organizations. Autographs of everyone were collected at AirVenture 2019, and the four posters were then auctioned off, raising a total of $14,221.61 for two charitable organizations.

The same kind of project is happening in 2021. In total, 17 social media aviators are supporting the charity fundraiser this year. Everybody’s autographs will be collected during AirVenture in the last week of July 2021, and then four posters will be auctioned off. the proceeds will go to two organizations:

  • The Woody Williams Foundation, led by the last surviving Medal of Honor recipient from World War II, Hershel Woody Williams. At the age of 97, Mr. Williams works tirelessly to provide comfort and support to Gold Star Families.
  • The AOPA Air Safety Institute (part of the AOPA Foundation), whose mission is to promote safety and pilot proficiency in general aviation through education.

The auction will go live in August of 2021. I hope you will consider bidding on one of these posters.

A big thank you to all participating Youtubers and Instagramers, and to Deon Mitton for providing the background image – a photo he took previously at AirVenture in Oshkosh.
